Only PM can call for emergency Parliament meeting
19,September,2008This is final and nothing could be changed according to the Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia. The call for Parliament Emergency meeting can only be called by the PM and it should be followed thru by procedure which is 14 days official application.
In the event there were to be changes in the date of the meeting, this could only be decided by the Prime Minister. Everything has to be approved by the Prime Minister.
What I dont understand is that the call from Anwar for the meeting is to talk about the untrustworthy of the leadership of the PM. Do you still wants the PM to decide a day for him to talk about this ???
Anwar wants Parliament to meet by Sept 23
18,September,2008DSAI has called the PM to set up a parliamentary meeting by the Sept 23rd to deliberate on a vote of no-confidence against Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s leadership.
Lets see, if Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi trust in his own leadership, he will surely show up and arrange the meeting to happen, but if has no trust in his own leadership – guess you know the answers. Cause we had enough excuses and reasons been given – lets just face it if you think you are good !!!!
Anwar ‘has enough MPs’ but delays takeover deadline
17,September,2008Yesterday Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that ” The numbers are increasing by the hour, but as of now, it is in excess of 31 MPs, This is not empty talk. I am fully responsible for my statement but we have choose to be patient and use the conciliatory way,” at a conference at PKR HQ.
But the best part is that, our PM refuses to meet DSAI and claim that it is all a dirty political plot which will never happen. Now the question is, if our PM thinks he is right than why dont he agree to meet DSAI for a further discussion – why the delay….. ?
I totally agree with Datuk Zaid Ibrahim
15,September,2008We have lots of different opinions about ISA. Some say abolish ISA, some say repeal ISA and some ISA let it be the same way how it is right now.
Well, I happen to have the same opinion as Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, we should have ISA but use it wisely. We should not abolished ISA because what would happen if we receive tread like involving the national security ? like bombing, terrorist involvement and communism ? I mean something with proven evidence. I don’t want my country that I live judge and run a trial on a terrorist. No questions and further freedom should be allowed on this kind of situation. ISA would definitely be the action against them.
Why should we be like Iran that gave trial for Saddam before he was judged ? because that country is full of war. Are we like them ? If we are than I guess we should also give the terrorist a chance to try their luck in court. BUT unfortunately this is not a country full of war and bombs. So again don’t compare our country with IRAN or IRAQ and of course not America. Because we are Malaysia and we don’t love helping people involve in terrorist related issues. So bottom line we do need ISA and not to be abolished for certain valid reason to keep the country safe and warm to live in.
Now the question is how to use the ISA against issues that already have law guidelines to try them in court. I dont think that ISA is a right channel for government to use this as their weapon. Come on man does Teressa looks like a terrorist ? Does RPK looks like Terrorist ? Its sounds very obvious that something is just not right. Who are these people at the backyard that decides all this ISA action against all these people that is more patriotic than certain leaders in the country.
Well, another thing which is totally strange is that all the people that had been so far put in ISA are all the people in the opposition team. Is that something co-incident or is this merely a government weapon ? Something to think about…
I leave it to you guys to ponder in this thing and your feedback is most welcome…..
Anwar: Tarikh 16 Sept mungkin dilanjutkan…
10,September,2008The 16th September plan would most probably brought forward to a later date. It has not been finalised but will be in couple of days according to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. According to Anwar, the Pakatan Rakyat had sufficient MP to move over but unfortunately the BN has sent to them to Taiwan to celebrate the Fasting season. This sounds like a mere lame old tactics……
Anwar’s sodomy case postponed to Sept 24
10,September,2008Taken from the Star :
KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur sessions court on Wednesday postponed Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s sodomy case to Sept 24 to allow the prosecution and defence time to prepare arguments on transferring the case to the High Court.
The prosecution had applied for the case to be transferred to the high court. Anwar’s lawyers objected to the transfer.
Earlier Wednesday, there was heavy police presence outside the Jalan Duta court complex here in anticipation of the expected crowd.
Several truckloads of FRU personnel were deployed in addition to armed uniformed policemen.
Anwar arrived at the court complex at 9.30am in a black Mazda MPV.
He was accompanied by his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, daughter and lawyer Sankara Nair.
Speaking to reporters, Anwar said: “I’m not sure what will happen in court today. I hope bail would not be withheld. There is no basis for the charge in the first place so why talk about the bail?”
His lawyer Sankara said: “If the DPP wants to deny Anwar bail, they’ll have to apply and we will respond. The same goes for transferring the case to another court.”
Commenting on the Sept 16 deadline for the opposition to form a new government, Anwar said, “Is Sept 16 on track? Very much so. We will comment on that issue in the next one or two days. Next trip, Taipei!”
The PKR adviser was charged on Aug 7 with sodomising his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan. He pleaded not guilty.
He is accused of committing the offence at Desa Damansara Condominium in Jalan Setiakasih, Bukit Damansara, between 3.01pm and 4.30pm on June 26.
If convicted, he can be jailed up to 20 years and whipped for voluntarily committing unnatural sex under Section 377B of the Penal Code.
Gerakan P Pinang putus hubungan dengan Umno negeri
9,September,2008It shows how the team is now slowly breaking apart. So every action has an equal reaction. Some people still never learn
This article is taken from Malaysia Kini.
Who Said UMNO does not fight among them ???
2,September,2008The below write up taken from The Star :
SEGAMAT: A fight broke out at the Felda Palong Timur 5 Umno branch meeting after several members claimed they were unhappy with the results of the nominations.
Punches were traded and chairs thrown during the commotion at 6pm on Saturday.
It is learnt that when the votes for the division chief post was tallied, incumbent Datuk Othman Jais lost to newcomer Shaifuddin Ali Hanafiah.
Othman, 61, in his sixth term, is the longest-serving state assemblyman in Johor.
Branch chief Poninan Panijo said Othman’s supporters were unhappy with the results and demanded that members cast their votes again.
“It was also agreed that after voting, all those who cast their votes for Othman would leave the hall,” he said.
At the end of the voting, it was found that only 28 people left the hall, leading to Shaifuddin’s victory once again, which sparked off the fight after a war of words.
Poninan said that in the fight, punches and harsh words were exchanged.
“The legs of several chairs were also broken,” he said.
He added that at the end of the fight, Othman, who is the Segamat division chief, instructed that the branch elections be valid, but the division post elections would be cancelled.
Shaifuddin, 47, a former Segamat Umno Youth chief, already has eight nominations in hand, and needs the nominations from this branch to be able to contest for the division chief post.
When contacted, Othman denied that there had been a fight and said only an argument had ensued when several voters who had allegedly not paid their membership fees voted.
The police confirmed that no police report had been lodged over the incident.
It was the second rowdy Umno meeting in the past few days. On Friday, rotten eggs were thrown during the Sungai Machang Hilir branch meeting near Seremban.
The meeting became unruly after a group of members started to protest against some financial statements, loss of membership forms and delays in sending out the notices for the meeting.
This is also the second time a fight has broken out during Umno branch meetings in Johor in the past month.
On Aug 3, the Sedili Kecil Umno branch meeting erupted into a war of words between a supporter of Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar and a supporter of Daing A. Malik Daing A. Rahman, who is vying for the position of Kota Tinggi division chief
